Research Activity 4
Research activity 4 will investigate the relationship between atmospheric patterns identified by previous activities and large scale climate modes such as El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) or the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO). By understanding how climate variability and typical smaller scales patterns interact, better forecasting methods can be developed. The outcome of this activity will be a quantification of which climate modes drive extreme precipitation events in the United States.
